Yan Tan Tethera is the company building Mobcount. We are a London, UK based company, whose goal is to run a successful niche counting company for the next 10+ years. In 2018 the research direction moved to mid-range distance measurement from stereo. To see where the Yan Tan Tethera name comes from see the sheep here.

The current plan is to get mid-range distance tracking working in the 50-500m range at 2-6fps for a 20MP imager. Once this is working the question is whether it has stand alone value or becomes part of a video counting solution (more likely to be road or river traffic at these distances

Jim Dallas is the founder and main researcher/ developer, but he uses his network of friends and contacts for the many tasks he is less good at. Previously Jim was the CTO at the wearable camera company Autographer, headed the short form video team at Sky, and has extensive experience as a Technical Project Manager in media-based Internet businesses. Way back he studied Maths at Oxford and AI at Edinburgh, when Neural Nets didn’t yet work.
